Hillsboro Aviation has received International Standard for Business Aviation Operations (IS-BAO) Stage Two accreditation from the International Business Council on Aviation (IBAC). The IS-BAO program is an internationally-recognized set of safety standards for business aviation, focused on developing a code of best practices for business aviation operators who utilize safety management systems (SMS) for risk assessment and mitigation.
Hillsboro Aviation received IS-BAO Stage 1 accreditation in 2014. At that time, the company also operated one of the largest helicopter flight training programs in the world, and was the first helicopter training program to be accredited. After Hillsboro Aviation sold the flight school division in November 2014, the company focused on expanding its charter, sales, and services departments with an emphasis on continuing to implement recognized safety standards. These efforts were recognized and awarded with the IS-BAO Stage 2 accreditation.
“We are proud to have received the Stage 2 accreditation,” said Max Lyons, President and CEO of Hillsboro Aviation and Chairman of Helicopter Association International. “Hillsboro Aviation is dedicated to maintaining only the highest safety standards and IS-BAO accreditation is a key element in achieving that goal.”
