Hillsboro Aviation has unveiled its plans for expansion into new corporate headquarters and an executive hangar in Hillsboro, Oregon. With completion expected in 2016, the 425,000 square foot development project will accommodate the company’s growing business sectors.
“I feel optimistic and energized about this new phase,” said Max Lyons, owner and president of Hillsboro Aviation and vice chairman of Helicopter Association International. “Our new facility reflects our position as a complete helicopter and airplane service operator and will fulfill many of our customers’ needs, from aircraft and parts sales to overhaul services and international shipping logistics.”
Building plans also include environmentally sound materials and design. Construction resources will be made of recycled materials, while the roof system is designed to accommodate a photovoltaic energy system. Staff and customers will have access to a variety of benefits including a gym with complete exercise equipment.
“We face an unprecedented opportunity for growth and are eager to proceed with a modern and environmentally friendly design,” said General Manager Ryan McCartney. “Expansion of this scale lays a solid foundation for the future of our growing company while maintaining a high level of dedication to our customers’ experience.”
The property will be located at the Portland-Hillsboro Airport (KHIO), home to Nike founder Phil Knight’s recent $7.6 million hangar and near Intel’s largest chip manufacturing plant. Construction will begin in July 2015.
